Last month we reported that a 72 Carat Diamond failed to sell at auction, but was later purchased privately.  This week, a 101.27 Carat Diamond, the size of a ping pong ball, has been sold at a Christie’s auction in Hong Kong for $6.2 Million.  Maybe the economy is improving after all.

72.22 carat Diamond Fails to Sell at Auction

A few weeks ago we reported the 72.22 carat Diamond Auction at Sotheby’s Hong Kong.  The auction, which occurred on April 10th has apparently failed, with the diamond being withdrawn after the final bid failed to reach the reserve price.
