iDiamond - World’s Most Expensive iPod

iDiamond - World’s Most Expensive iPod

The World’s Most Expensive Apple iPod has gone up for sale at a charity auction in London.

This one-of-a-kind customized iPod was designed by jeweller, Thomas Heyerdahl.  The process was painstaking and meticulous and will be Heyerdahl’s last.

Made of solid 18 karat white and pink gold and customised with 430 diamonds, this 1GB iPod Nano is worth an estimated £20,000 or $39,932.  The diamonds cover the face of the player as well as the earbud headphones.

At an average song length of 3-5 minutes and an encoding rate of 128 bits, you can fit roughly 225 songs on your iDiamond.  That comes out to about $177 per song.  Those are some expensive MP3’s.
