The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry went head-to-head at the Sentebale Polo Cup, an event sponsored by Royal Salute. The event is an exclusive invite-only fundraiser for a charity that was founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. The event took place at Coworth Park that is just outside of London.
Royal Salute hosted the event and celebrites like Neve Campbell, Dougray Scott, Claire Forlani, Ellie Goulding, and Greg James, were there. The Chairman and CEO of Chivas Brothers, Christian Porta said, “Royal Salute is honoured to be associated with polo and more importantly today, with Sentebale, a very special charity that is helping and changing the lives of many in Lesotho. It’s been such a privilege to watch this incredibly historic and skilful game in the beautiful surroundings of Coworth Park.” Award-winning Royal Salute is a Scotch whisky that started as a tribute by the Chivas Brothers to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the II for her coronation in 1953. The whisky has a long history of paying tribute to nobility and leadership.
The event ended with and exclusive Royal Salute Dinner and After Party. VIPs were treated with a special viewing of Tribute to Honour, their finest and rarest limited edition of only 21 bottles. The bottles were adorned with 400 black and white diamonds with the collaboration of fellow Sentebale supporter, jeweller Gerard. The event also included an auction for the charity, set up by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso, for the neediest and most vulnerable people of Lesotho.
Royal Salute sponsors some of the world’s most prestigious polo events spanning China, India, Dubai, Brazil, and the UK. The Royal Salute World Polo Series continues in Tetbury, Gloucestershire on June 18, 2011 at the Beaufort Polo Club. Then On July 9, 2011 The Foundation Polo Challenge in Santa Barbara, California, to raise funds fo the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.
