Urwerk was founded by two watch-making brothers from Switzerland, Felix and Martin Baumgartner. Their watches feature a unique design in which the hour is defined by a set of four orbiting satellites. As each satellite makes contact with the dial at the base it takes an hour to move across, showing minutes. At the 60 minute mark the next satellite picks up at the first minute. Its’ unique design sets it apart from other timepieces and makes it a great conversation piece.
Urwerk offers two collections: the sporty 201 collection and the more refined 103 collection. The flagship of the collection is the Urwerk 103.06 Edition Speciale Joaillerie which features 5.28 carats in 277 rare white diamonds, and retails for £58,000 or $116,000.
