Sleeping in a cave isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of luxury, however the Gamirasu Cave Hotel is quite the exception.
Located in Ayvalı, Turkey, the once monk-occupied, millenium-old Gamirasu Cave contains 30 rooms and luxurious suites with names like “Roman King,” “Eagle Nest,” and the most expansive and expensive, the “Byzantine King” suite. Rooms start at 135 Euros a night and go up to 935 for the “Byzantine King” suite. With rates like this, you’d be right to expect a view, but the Gamirasu Cave Hotel contains no windows, so it may not be the best choice for wealthy claustrophobics. However, if you’re looking for a vacation to “get away from it all” this may just be the place for you.
