World’s Safest Car

World’s Safest Car

Think it’s a Volvo?  Think again…

There’s only a handful of countries known for building cars. Most of them are in Europe or the Far East.  Colonel Muammar Gaddafi wants to add Libya to that list, and this is what he’s cooked up to do it.  Called the Libyan Rocket, the car was designed to solve the problem of high instance of road deaths in the north African country.  Gaddafi’s people say it’s the safest car ever made, but don’t go into any details to back up the claim.  Still, the Colonel’s revolutionary government is building a plant in Tripoli to put it together.

Gaddafi’s car seats five, has a 230-hp V6 and the nose and tail of a rocket. The Libyan Rocket does come with airbags, an electronic defense system and collapsible bumpers that supposedly help out in a crash. So what is the “electronic defense system”? Apparently, nobody knows what it is or how it works. So even the secret is safe with this car!

You may want to add some diamond studded rims complete with their own bodyguard if you want to make this car even safer.

It was nice to know that there are makers who concentrate not just on style but also on the safety of it’s driver and passengers. But it was also sad to say that they can be just found in part of Europe or Far East. Meticulous testing is what the car makers needed to make sure of their customers safety.

Let’s see — when two of them are on the road, and the one in back bumps the one in front, the pointy bumpers make both cars turn sideways and they both roll, over and over, many times. Is that a safety feature?

What’s the repair bill when your wife bumps into a wall with the rocket bumper?

I think the rocket front end is to move camels off the road, sort of a camel-catcher, as it were.

This is sooooo not funny! I’m not Libian, but I’m not comfortable with the tone of this article!! And quite frankly I believe it’s driven by racist bigotry!! So what if the Libyans, or the Arabs or any people from a developing country for that matter, aspire to create their own special brand of cars, and are actually working their way to it??? What’s so funny about that??
    Racist Assholes!

It looks OK, but how can they claim for it to be the world’s safest car if they cannot even say exactly how it is so?

My car has airbags all around, too. How is this car safer than that?

Well, it was Hitler who backed Porsche, and quashed the true drive train designer Tatra, by invading the real country it was designed in/ by. Must it really take a asshole dictator to actually advance the automobile beyond the aesthetics?
