Forget Ferraris and private jets. When you live in the middle of the desert, what you need is a good camel.
The crown prince of the United Arab Emirates of Dubai has purchased a female camel for $2.72 million dollars at a camel beauty pageant on Monday.
The record-setting camel was just one of the camels purchased for a total of $4.49 million dollars by the crown prince. 10,000 camels were up for grabs at the Abu Dhabi festival designed to celebrate and preserve the region’s cultural heritage.
Camel racing is a popular sport in this region of the world and female camels are known for their superior speed.
